Renaissance Weekend

Renaissance Weekend

The Weekends

Celebrations of ideas, discovery and achievement:  Renaissance Weekends® build bridges among innovative leaders of all ages . . . with exceptionally diverse perspectives.

Over 30 years, Renaissance discussions—always provocative, often ground-breaking—continue to be fueled by distinguished thought-leaders, trend-setters and authorities . . .

CEOs, venture capitalists, business & social entrepreneurs, Nobel Laureates & Pulitzer Prize-winners, astronauts & Olympians, acclaimed change-makers of Silicon Valley, Hollywood, Wall Street & Main Street, Republicans, Democrats & Independents.

Customary differences are transcended; partisanship, frowned upon; commercialism, banned.  The most unlikely bonds are forged.

The Weekends are more than a conference.

Each program—New Year's, the largest; others more relaxed—highlights participants' singular competencies in hundreds of lectures, seminars, workshops and academies.

  • Intellectual content is punctuated by music, laughter & the power of personal experience, as well as adventure, sports & cultural activities.
  • All venues offer lodging options to accommodate different budgets.
  • Children are challenged by scores of counselor-led educational, fun programs; teens participate in adult sessions and their own functions.

Urgent questions of our times are examined with candor:  All participants, heard; broadly divergent views, expressed.  Eminent adversaries disagree without being disagreeable.

There is "more light than heat."  Civility prevails.

Compelling settings are the campus for a unique interaction of extraordinary people . . .

intellectually curious pacesetters in business, law and finance, public policy and community service, science, medicine and technology, education, religion and the arts, philanthropy, media, sports and entertainment.

The alchemy of ideas and substantive relationships has an incredibly transforming power.

Thought and action are central.

Countless commercial ventures, personal endeavors and public-service initiatives have been spawned by Renaissance.  As sought by the founders—Linda and Philip Lader, the former U.S. Ambassador to the Court of St. James's, both change and renewal invariably ensue, and the Weekends retain the spirit of reunions of a remarkable "extended family."

Participation is by invitation only.  A very limited number of others expressing interest may be included, based on their potential contribution to the expertise, depth, breadth, and diversity of perspectives at each Weekend. For consideration, please note the Invitation Criteria
